There are many different types of keys in my life...

Key to my heart: my boys and Bostyn

Key to my tummy: nachos (breakfast, lunch, or dinner)

Key to me being less stressed: my very neat and organized planner (if it's not in there it might not happen)

Key to me being awake: Energy drinks (yes multiples some days)

Key to our first home together: Is laying in my hand right now.

Joy is a word that doesn't come close to explaining how I feel right now. These are the days I realize how lucky I truely I am!

Self, you should really do a better job at keeping up on your life events

Not that my events are particularly interesting, but none the less in no particular order ... here they are.

Stef's Golden Birthday: Everyone bringing out their hottest gold outfits for the evening. Lots of sparkles and stretchy materials were worn by all. All for the Golden Queen of the night Miss Stef!

San Diego: We took a trip to SAAAN DIEGO this year. We kept it classy in La Jolla and Sea World. Scully joined us to say hello to Shamu (pre killer Shamu in Florida).

We have had a GREAT year so far.

* I finished my 5th year teaching 5th grade. (and survived)

* Topped off my "NERD" status by being inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society.

* Joey finished his first season back in baseball. (2nd place!)

* Joey was starting pitcher in the championship game... talk about a nervous mom!

Last but certainly not least... We got Bostyn, our Weim! She has been an amazing addition to our house. She has already taken over our hearts and our house. :)

(yes... this is her on the bed, where she is not suppose to be. Buuuutttt... look at how cute she is!)

I am hoping this is my last long recap.... I will be posting on a regular basis from now on.

So my dear internet follower (yes, I said follower because I am thinking that there aren't very many of you) I will be back sooner than later this next time! Muah!

So, apprentently its been awhile since I've posted! Who knew life could take up SO much of your time!! Well after many friends complaining that I NEVER post anymore... here goes! Think of this as a "Tivo"ed version of my last 7 months... on fast forward.

I have so many things to be thankful for in my life. I think sometimes those good things are clouded by the stuff in our lives that aren't going so right or things we can't control. In my life I have been blessed in so many ways I wouldn't be the person I am now without all of those things (good and bad)!!

My blessings:
1. My little man!! Even though he is not so little anymore. He is by far the main reason I am who I am today!
2. My Family. Words could never express what i owe to them. No matter how low or high I am they have always been there for me. Thank you. Love you!
3. My Friends. They are what keep me sain! My laughter through any tears I might have!
4. My Job & education! I will never work a day in my life, because I love what I do! (thank you Dr. Gryder) Master's here I come!!
5. My health. Although not always what I would like it to be, as long as I can still throw a football with Joey I am good!

I am a very very lucky girl!!

It is always fun to dress up and pretend you're someone else. Well, this weekend I had a blast pretending to be something I am far from being; a playboy playmate. Andi, Steph, and I dressed up as the girls next door and after some last minute changes convinced Thomas to be our Hef... thanks Thomas!! We has Tracy as our Mary and Heather as one of the new move-ins taking our place :) It was a good time had by all!

Tuesday morning Joey and I decided to go hiking up the Superstition Mountains. After getting lost on the way there... oops... I was a little worried about the actual hike. The weather was a perfect 89 degrees! We made it up and down in one piece. It was beautiful outside, I am so excited to be able to go hiking again!!

I love that everyone i know is having or has had a baby recently. It is by far the best form of birth control!! I love being an aunt and loving them to pieces and then going home and being able to get a full nights sleep and having my own baby who is completely self sufficient!

Well.... two weeks in a row the Devils didn't show up to play! The day started off great! A little tail gating, in the ridiculous heat, and then a couple drinks at Maloneys. Andi and I were more then prepared for the game!!

Although they put on a terrible show I still love my sun devils! Thanks for coming to the game with me Andi!! Love ya!!!

For your average teacher playground duty consist of making sure kids don't hurt each other, sand stays on the ground, basketballs are the only things that are thrown through the basketball hoops, boys arent locking girls in the bathrooms and mending the relationships of the first graders that get mad and hurt because someone looked at them funny. Oh but not for this teacher.... you can just call me super playground duty person (I should have a badge)!!!
This morning I not only fulfilled my normal duties but also; relocated a frog that was being crowded around by twenty or so children, rushed a student to the nurse who was bitten by a mosquito and had her eye instantly swollen shut (it was really gross), and had to save a gopher that was being chased by tons of kids and a teacher who wanted to feed it to the snake!! When I signed my contract it said nothing about being the animal police!! All of that within 15 minutes!!! The day in the life of a teacher... you never know what it will bring!

The evolution of my name...

Age 1 to 17: Tabatha
When I had little Joey I became Mommy
When Joey turned 5 it dropped down to Mom (I cried that day!)
When I taught Kindergarten I was Ms. Tabby
When I started teaching 5th grade is was Ms. Dase
When Joey started going to my school I was then known as Joey's Mom
Today when i was on playground duty I all I heardwas "Teacher Teacher Teacher so and so threw sand on me!"

I have come to the conclusion that when you have kids (no matter if its my own or the 27 others in my class that i have adopted for the year) you completely lose your identity! I now answer to mom, joey's mom, Ms. Dase, Ms. Tabby, and Teacher Teacher Teacher! Why did my mom even give me a name!! :)

A couple of weeks ago Andi and I took a trip to Vegas. When we reach our hotel we decided to freshen up a little before heading down stairs to walk around. We hung up the shirts the we had brought and put our toiletries into the bathroom. Everything was going smoothly until... I brought out my hair straightener. (Flashback to that morning while packing... I was placing the last items into my suitcase and realized that my straightener was still hot. So being the innovative person I am I put a long sock over the top of it... I even double bagged it just in case!!! Better safe than sorry.. right! Problem solved, straightener packed.) Back to unpacking at the hotel... I take my straightener out and Andi just starts laughing. Not just ha ha but doubling over peeing your pants laughing... which gets me started too. I try to explain why my hair straightener has socks on it, but I found that it was hard to explain because we were laughing so hard!! Andi thought this was a perfect picture opportunity, here is the picture of my wonderful cooling idea... maybe I should patent it!!!

Where did the summer go?

As a kid I remember being so disappointed that summer was over and we had to return to school. I always thought that the teachers were the ones who were pumped that the school year was beginning again. Now I know for sure that's completely not true!!! Although it will be nice to get back into the routine of life, I was thoroughly enjoying the fantasy of having no responsibilities. Well summer was fun while it lasted and we did alot!!!

Joey and I had a busy week of swimming and playing. Trying to fit as many things as we could into the few days we have left of our summer. Last night we went to see the 3D epic story... JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH! As we were enjoying the movie I was reminded how Joey is truely still my baby. If you have never seen a movie in 3D be prepared to duck and dodge objects that you know 100% are not going to touch you... yet you still feel the need to quickly move your head as the dinosaurs snot is flying at you. My little man kept reassuring me that there were no scary parts in this movie... at the same time cutting off the circulation in my arm that he was desperately holding onto. He is growing so tall and so big, but inside he is still my baby boy that needs his mom. Its a good feeling!!!
